Work Cover NSW Licencing Course Requirements

For any licencing course that you undertake with DGTC there are some additional requirements as defined by Work Cover NSW:

  • To obtain a Work Cover NSW licence, learners/participants must be at least 18 years of age. Therefore, learners/participants must be 18 or over to be able to sit the assessment for a licencing program.
  • To obtain a Dangerous Goods Licence, learners/participants must provide at least five (5) years of driving history, and must be over 21 years of age.
  • Learners/participants must be able to speak and understand the English language in written and verbal form prior to assessment.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy

  • DGTC endeavours to enhance effective participation by all learners in vocational education and training, and in the workplace, by providing access to quality English literacy and numeracy programs and services where a learner/participant requests such support.
  • The learner/participant will be given a self-assessment prior to enrolment of a training course. These are guidelines for what is expected during the training course.
  • DGTC will give the opportunity of support to each learner/participant prior to enrolment for any learning needs.
  • A learner/participant must supply DGTC with as much knowledge of individual skills, difficulties and competencies as possible prior to commencement of the course.
  • Learners/participants with language, literacy and numeracy skills at lower levels than those suggested may require additional support to successfully undertake the course. If a learner/participant attending the training does require additional assistance, please raise any concerns through the enrolment process so the trainer can explore the options available to best suit the needs of the participant through the course. Participants with special needs can include but are not limited to those with language, literacy and/or numeracy difficulties, or anxious or inexperienced participants.
  • If the support attracts additional costs, this will be at the learner's expense.
  • If a learner/participant requires more knowledge or assistance on how to extend their learning of Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills, we suggest you contact TAFE via phone on 131 601 or via their website at www.tafensw.edu.au.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

  • The Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a Commonwealth reference number that gives a student access to their own USI account.
  • Each individual account will be linked to the National Vocational Education and Training (VET) Data Collection. This allows students to see all of their individual training results (including completed training units and qualifications from all providers).
  • All training conducted by DGTC will require each learner/participant to advise of their USI on their enrolment form.
  • DGTC and Robinson College will be unable to process competencies without a USI number.

Certificate / Statement of Attainment

  • DGTC ensures that a participant will only receive a Certificate or Statement of Attainment as a result of a completed course/passing of unit/s being officially acknowledged.
  • Robinson College will issue Certificates/Statements of Attainment within thirty (30) business days from the date of the course completion/competency date.
  • A participant/company receiving a Certificate/Statement of Attainment must not in any way change, add to or modify a Certificate/Statement of Attainment.
